Aussie scrapjacked

I chose to jack Mandy's layout this time. She used muslin but I used a crepe bandage plus a hand dyed doiley.I've glimmer misted with green and used a ticket with a rub on butterfly, added punched butterflies and also used 2 types of mini lettering. The final touch is a string bow and some journalling. The photo is of the ceiling of the Globe Theatre in London.

A2z scraplets on board

My prize from A2z scraplets arrived this morning. The chipboard I received motivated me to do their challenge. There are 2 pieces on this layout, the title and the swirly heart.I've used their sketch to create Shipboard sweethearts featuring 3 old photos from when I first knew my husband. We were at Sea world.

I love a parade

I made this layout for a sketch challenge on mystical but also for a challenge about LOVE soon to be announced on Scrapmatts.(I'm sure I'll be forgiven for posting early). The lamp post in my layout is a scrapmatts chippy. They're so versatile, especially for travel or heritage layouts.
I also won bingo in the mystical cybercrop.

Color room

A sketch challenge on mystical provided the impetus to do this layout for the color room.I've pleated a fan plus made 2 tiny flowers using the rolled pinwheel technique.I've inked scrapmatts Federation corners and the word laugh.Rub ons from Kaisercraft completed the layout.I like this photo because everyone is smiling in it.

White with One

The layout started with 2 Bazzil "Really Big Buttons".I've had these for a few years and saw this as a chance to use them. The paint was scraped across the white cardstock using a strip of cardboard.Once that was dry I added curled bookpage and bella pp,several flowers and smaller buttons, plus some ribbons and antique lace.
Mum is now 93 but this is a photo of her at about 2.I love the frilly knickers hanging down below her frock. She was called TOTTY as her initials were T.O.T.

Scrap the boys

Transformers are Jonathan's current favourite toys.He received this set for Christmas and has been playing with it quite frequently. When I saw the topic on Scrap the Boys was a favourite summer pastime I thought of this photo.I've used a kit including Word Pals from American Crafts plus Grant Archival papers.I've also used buttons and ribbon plus chipboard that came in the same kit.

123 challenge

The 123 challenge this month is silver, splotches and joy.I've used ribbon and silver paper diagonally on this layout to create stripes as a background to the photo mat.The picture is of Ha'penny bridge in Dublin.I misted over the word Voyage for contrast and a bit of colour, then added "to Dublin" as the rest of my heading. The word enjoy is like a subheading. The silver bow and tiny silver journalling box complete this layout.I was capturing a modernistic feel.

Artastic Christmas concert layout

Every year there is a Christmas concert. These 2 men performed this year both playing instruments.
I misted through a lace doiley to get the mottled effect behind the decorations, inked with gold.I've stamped an angel and cut out some clouds.

To do list at Get Picky

This layout outlines my 3 resolutions for this year:- to have more time for me,to use more of my scrap stash and to stay healthy. As I type this i am sitting here with my foot in a bandage from an operation 2 weeks ago and torn muscles in my back,so the 3rd item needs to come true soon! The grey frame on this layout is equal width all the way around.
I've used some of my stash to create this layout including several embellishments I've had on my desk. The 2 photos are from a while ago,but I still look the same. The quote from Rusty Pickle typifies me as I'm an optimist.

Giraffe on Show us your stuff

Every year I go to Taronga zoo during summer. It overlooks Sydney Harbour and there's always something to see. This year the giraffes were up close to me and I took some great photos.(I love giraffes).
This layout started with the scrapmatts chipboard circle.I painted it then stamped using "Remember this moment".Next I layered the pattern papers, finishing off with a cut out flower spray from Basic Grey.To this, I added antique lace(triangular like the giraffes markings) and my title.

From screen 2 scrap with Nanna

Santa came to the Nursing home where Nanna was still excited at the age of 93!
I made a flower from pattern tissue with some bling for the centrepiece. Also used quilted paper and a cluster of sunflowers cut from another scrap of pp.Letttering is Kaisercraft.

Tuppy in Anna's craft cupboard!

I've made this layout using gorgeous Prima flowers and butterfly for Anna's craft cupboard. The soft colours in the background paper blended beautifully with the embellishments and the flowers.

Kraft it up

Kraft it up this month calls for a colour palette of red ,turquoise, yellow and lime green.I used a Christmas striped paper as my background, then cut large scallops from another pp to go under the photo.I stretched striped ribbon above that, using yellow as my mat and turquoise c/s as another layer. At this point I splotched pale lime green paint across the layout.Next I made a pleated flower, attaching it with a button. The embellies are Pink Paislee Soiree.Being birthday themed they suited this layout.

Stuck?! on the Seine Bridges

The sketch this week at Stuck?! features 3 photos. Luckily there are several bridges along the Seine so I chose 3 interesting ones and made this layout. I've used My Minds Eye "Quite Contrary" again. I've added a matching pink/maroon cloud plus 2 rub ons of the Eiffel Tower and French words saying "life I love you!".There are also buttons plus a stamp of an aeroplane.Hope you like it!

This gorgeous Nepalese Dancer performed at our local nursing home recently. The colours of her outfit blend beautifully with this week's colour room. I used Basic Grey"Recesss-Erroneous" paper, then added 2 scrapmatts circles which I painted sky
blue.I hand stitched some crosses with embroidery thread.Another 2 circles were painted with Lil'Davis metallic paint in Rose.I've added a spray of co-ordinating flowers and used Pink Paislee Lettering.A final touch was more metallic rose paint in small patches then some gold rhinestones.

Wonder at Bird is the Word

Here's a layout using one of my favourite colour combos black/white/lime.It features Scenic Route lettering plus Hero Arts flowers and Francheville brads.(The best thing is I've used up scraps from my expanding stash)I don't need journalling as my title says it all. Sometimes I wonder why I scrap...because I love it!

Two wins for December

My white lace tree card won on Lollipop ladies and my Cherish layout won on Soul Scrappers.Whilst I'm not in it for the rewards it is nice to be recognised occasionally.
I also received a Grinners mention on Aussie Scrapjacked.
HAPPY NEW YEAR EVERYONE!!!!!
My New Years Resolution is to use up some of this accumulated clutter in my scrap room.Perhaps even fight my frugal instincts and throw some away.We will see eh?
