Get Picky

My entry for Get Picky this time started with a gold rubon i won in another challenge. It provided the ideal corner for the sketch. The 2 photos feature family members admiring the new baby.I've misted the edges and drawn a frame around using gel pen. Then after inking the patterned paper with pinecone placed it in the centre.I've used a Li'l Davis flower saying "Forget me not", which is appropriate. The other crysanthemum's were stamped using blue paint then cut out and buttons sewn in the middle.I've added extra butoons and embellies from Jillybean soup.

Imagine a card

I made this card from marbelled paper, then added organza ribbon. The chipboard leaves are from scrapmatts new garden items, they were inked gold.My final touch is a "Rusty Pickle" label saying "Imagine" which I found in my stash.I thought this card would suit male or female.

FS2S and Valentine's day layout.

My collage of pictures started with a chipboard frame from Scrapbookingncraft which i painted black. This was then used to place photos of various sizes of the whole family taken on Christmas Day.There are 10. I filled the remaining spaces with felt hearts,a large chipboard button featuring hearts and a brad saying cherish.I'm contemplating hanging this in the house as we are all in it.Hope you like it.

Kellogs at A2Z

A man and wife were having breakfast outside their caravan surrounded by several sulphur crested cockatoos. One in the tree fork looked particularly keen.It reminded me of that kellogs advertisement, hence this layout. I've used A2Z's fence which was inked with Distress ink(Old paper).I've outlined it in black as well. The 3 flowers on the layout i made myself from scraps of lace cut into circle shapes.Instead of a bling flourish on the right hand side of the photo., I dipped a plastic hair roller in green paint then rolled it onto the paper. It looks like tiny footprints! The red pp has birds on it as well.

Sketches with a twist

I've found a new challenge blog this month called "sketches with a twist" This month it was the colour green. The 3 photos featured Annabelle on Christmas day(plus Charlotte!) so I used pink with a soft green in the ribbon and title. The buttons and Christmas tree are from kaisercraft as is the green paper.

Aussie scrapjacked

I chose to scrapjack Andrea this month. Her layout "Lunch with a friend" couldn't have been better as that's exactly what photo I had. These are 2 friends Margaret and Lyn.
There are tiny round brads instead of heart shaped ones on the bottom left. There is a bow instead of a kite above the journalling and no border punch down the left hand side as I don't own any.Otherwise it is true to the original, except in different colours.

Grinning. and not so happy.

Just a quick post to say I'm a grinner again on Aussie SCrapjacked with the layout I did using the misted bandage.
Also unhappy that my white lacey Christmas card won on another site but no prize has been forthcoming.

Kraft it up and pink and love

Petaloo flowers started this layout off then 3 cards from Pink Paislee stapled to the edge in a group followed. The background paper featured spots so I put grey c/s through the cuttlebug with swiss dots & inked it in grey.
Then I found the quote which says "As I comfort you and hold you in my arms know that because of you my heart in brightness beams.I love you unconditionally my blessed baby and wish you the best of dreams". As she is 25 now, I can look back and still echo those thoughts.
I lastly added A2Z scraplets "You are one of a kind" with a tiny pink bird and thickers saying Love you" plus a pin featuring a diamante pink butterfly.

White with one and two eggs.

It sounds like a breakfast order doesn't it?
My layout this month features one of my father's sayings. When asked what he wanted for dinner this was his reply. It has become a family joke.
I've used 4 doileys misted, then I added a muslin flower with lemon button to resemble a fried egg. Also on the layout are a scrapmatts basket of doodled eggs with a lemon ribbon bow,a basic Grey egg tag(to help translate) and some fussy cut flowers. The 2 small photos are my father, the large one is self explanatory!

Show us your stuff and Plum Jam

The paper matched perfectly with scrapmatts chipboard for this layout. They both feature cooking implements.I've used 3 photos instead of 2 ,in the Show us your stuff sketch this time.I've rolled the edges of the mat and used distress ink on the chipboard.
The story behind this is I have 2 Plum Jam recipes. One was for about 5 jars, the other makes around 15! When I saw plums cheap last week, of course I read the wrong recipe and ended up with too much. This is one of those everyday events layouts.

stuck?! sketches and Barbara

The sketch on Stuck?! inspired me to make this layout about a dear friend for nearly 40 years. She loves black/white and anything geometrical,so that started me off.I used stickers by Jenni Bowlin and made the pennant pieces into flowers. The triangle negatives for these formed the grid on the top left hand side.Under the black strip across I cut zeros from a sheet of fozz fonts by kaisercraft evenly divided into 2 making a scallopy border. The Jenni Bowlin chalkboard letters is appropriate since Barbara is a teacher. After adding a few bone buttons my layout is complete.

bird is the word Journey

This is a layout featuring Kaisercraft range of papers.I've used strips of 3 different PP plus an arrow cut from a 4th.The 3 photos were of a horseriding trip we went on in the Megalong Valley. We ended up at the hospital as one horse bit the girl in the lower photo on the leg, requiring stitches. It was more of a journey than we anticipated!
