September Counterfeit Kit Reveal & blog hop

The September Counterfeit Kits are based upon the July Citrus Twist kits. Here's the link
July Sail Away Main Kit Single
July Travel Kit Add-On
July Adventure PL 3-mon. sub
So you can see there are lots there to Counterfeit.
Again,there is a travel theme.

Here's my take on this kit
My papers and cardstock.I've included 3 7gypsies papers that I have been hoarding and want to use.
My cardstock is what's available so I have white,pale lilac,lime and a salmon-red colour.

My alphas are 3 sets of red, a dark grey and some Fancy pants stencil phrases.
These were as close as I could get to the 6x6 template in the top picture.

Next comes the embellishments
with some close -ups
These gorgeous Studio Calico cameras in wood veneer that I just had to have
Some tags & journal blocks I made by using up the remaining "October Afternoon" Travel Girl stickers from last month.
Some polaroid frames.Tutorial to follow.
Some green patty pans (I think I have a fetish!) and a wine lid with a hot air balloon on it.(Might have to drink more of that just for scrapping purposes obviously ,HIC!!).

And finally some cello envelopes which I have added washi tape to make pockets for journaling or keepsakes.
This kit also has brads, buttons, washi tapes, and basically anything I had with a travel theme.
Hope you like it!

Here is the order of the blog hop

One layer Wednesday #155

One layer Wednesday is another card site I visit.I followed Ardyth there and this is the first time I've entered.
The challenge was to use a silhouette.
I dug deep to find a stamp that was solid. I found my old star stamp from when I was a teacher and thought Christmas card.
First I used yellow ink over a Prima dotted mask on to green card. I carefully stamped a few stars in black. I also stamped my sentiment then added red ribbon as a final touch.

Flutterby Wednesday #250

I always try to do Flutterby Wednesday cards.
This week it is to create a shaped card rather than a square or rectangle.
I started with a rectangle but used a tractor die cut which is level along the wheels so I cut around the bottom and here it is!
So the card stands on those 4 wheels.
I've also used another paper quote "born to be wild" and some washi tape. This card is for a busy 3 year old boy who never sits still.

Lollipop Ladies Crocodiles

The challenge for this 2 weeks at the Lollipop Ladies is crocodiles PLUS washi tape

Aren't they fun lollies?
Searching through my stamp set from childhood I found a crocodile/alligator so I started by stamping a few then heat embossing them.
Then I cut the edges using pinking shears to give the teeth like finish.
I printed off my sentiment (based on an old song),then used washi tape either side of the cardstock.
Finally ,I've added some bling.

Paper and Pixels challenge

http://pixelsandpaperchallengeblog.blogspot.com.au/ is a fairly new blog run by Jane Howden who is on my Archiscraps DT.

This was the photo challenge for this month.
As soon as I saw the photo I thought about a similar one of Mum and her 2 friends.
Here is my layout.
Nearly everything on there is "OCTOBER AFTERNOON" Sandcastle & Harbour. The 2 smaller shots are from Graphic 45 and the chipboard is Scrapmatts. I painted it cream and inked around the edges with a light peach colour.

From Screen to scrap

I've had this kaisercraft owl paper for ages then saw the owl pendant in a throw out bin at Spotlight.I added pearls to the eyes on it and the paper owl.I cut around the tree and mounted it with magic mount to make it 3d.The scrapmatts flourishes provided the corner decoration around the owl.
The place in the photo was Rodini park in Rhodes Greece and was so cool and welcoming on a super hot day.
From Screen to Scrap has been a great source of inspiration for me. Thank you to Shazza and the team and I hope you will come back again one day.

Ruby's rainbow

I must be wanting summer to arrive. I realised I made a card last week called "Make a big splash" and now this one is "make a splash".
The challenge at Ruby's Rainbow is food and drink.
I've used an 8x8 pad I had with orange/lime green decorations. That made me think about citrus foods, hence the orange ice block. Then also from the Simple stories I {heart} summer range I found the soda pop bottle. The whole card epitomises summer don't you think?

Life paper scrapbook colour challenge.

The colours are reminiscent of my Counterfeit Kit from 2 months ago, so that's where I started...with the scraps. After all this is called scrapbooking.
There were paper offcuts in my yellow, orange and bone bags, so I've used those.

However, before that I used gesso with chicken wire mask to create the background in the left hand side. If you see black poking through it is because I also layered some random numbers on the cardstock first.
On the opposite side I started with the outline from a set of alphas which was black and white. It provides a grid for the rest of my layout.(A favourite layering technique of mine.)
On went the papers then cut out birdcage from Kaiser "sweet nothings" scraps. I had a grey crochet flower from MME "the sweetest thing". Over that I've used more flowers and finally the quote ,also from MME "Indie chic".

The photo is of my daughter's and my feet on a beach in Rhodes in Greece. Those pebbles were hard to stand on plus you sink into them quickly. A memorable moment since we were giggling trying to balance.

WOW August Challenge

I was sitting opposite Kim Kendall at Camp Mojo and talking about how much chipboard I have in my stash and how I need to use it up. She pointed out that WOW's August challenge is to use WOW chipboard on a layout.
This inspired me. So I chose 2 WOW chipboards that I had, Feather set and bird on a scroll branch.
The feathers have been misted with "sugar maple".
The bird was coloured using liquid pearls in peacock, then the branch in hot cocoa. I painted the red heart using a fine brush.
I love the turquoise/salmon/maple combo lately. My title tag is MME and the metallic flowers are left over from my Finnibar metallics.
and a close up of the bird.

Scrap around the World and CSI

This layout was uploaded to CSI as part of challenge #86 but it is now uploaded here as well because it is also based on a sketch and colour mood board for Scrap around the World.
Here is SATW's stimulus.
I was inspired not only by the colours but those little cake things reminded me of the Colloseum for some reason. Maybe it was the arch shaped. The wedding cake made me think about flowers.

Anyway here's my layout.
I've basically followed the sketch, using a star theme with my chipboard pieces from both Memory Maze and A2z scraplets. The smaller star on the right is covered in strips of scrap papers.
The flowers are scattered ,the zigzags are doodled, the chevrons are using Lil' Davis metallic paints.

Jingle Belles

For the Jingle Belles challenge I've stamped the background of a green card with music "We wish you a merry Christmas" I then mounted my commercially produced snowman sticker on white music paper and added a red & white spotted ribbon.

I've gine diagonally top left to bottom right on the tic tac toe board.

Bird is the word-Explore/Travel

I have been "rebirthing" some old layouts and have used BITW's sketch to do the 2nd page. The first page is for SUYS about 5 posts ago.

As I had a sticker saying "Travel" I have used that.
Other than that, I've tried to keep to a colour theme of oranges/salmons with a hint of black to match the train in the photo.
I couldn't resist using tickets instead of banners and a flag made from a toothpick, instead of a windmill as they are more train-like!

Jot magazine's mood board

SMALLJOTMOODBOARDTEMPLATERED
Here's the mood board. It asks for white black and shades of grey.

Before you think it, the photo is straight. My daughter took the shot at a slight angle so the mosaic tiles appear to be crooked.
I've used grey backing paper with a silver pattern as my mat. I have used random stitching as part of my framing and shaping of the layout.
The title is A Moulin,in French the a means "to".
There is a calico zigzag fringe and grey spotted ribbon from Pink Paislee and I've added washi tape plus an Eiffel Tower stamp,a lock and key rub on, a pointing hand and a penny farthing bicycle picture.

Mojo Monday #307

This is the latest sketch.
With many of my friends heading off on holidays, I decided to make a non-specific holiday card featuring a bikini as my motif.
If you've been looking at my last few posts you will notice a green theme.
I managed to buy a set of green cards cheaply, hence  the influx.

case this sketch #42

Here's the sketch for this week.
And here is a Christmas card that I've made. I've used Kaisercraft Twig and Berry, plus some washi tape.
If you are looking at my blog posts, comments are always welcome.

Flutterby Wednesdays with embossing #249

This week at Flutter by Wednesday they want dry or wet embossing.
I've chosen dry embossing by using my cuttlebug on swiss dots to make my background.
Here's my card
The frame is even all the way around, it is the way I trimmed it in my photo editing.
As the flower and butterfly look a bit 1960s,  I've used stickers to spell the word "love".

Stuck on U sketches

Here's the sketch this time and here's my layout, which is a "Rebirth" of an old layout.
Early next month it will feature in a tutorial for Counterfeit Kits.
I've used 2 Sandy Lion papers, Orange Mini dots and Greggie's train set.
I cut out the large train and used it along the bottom. The book paper co-incidentally featured T words.2 strips of washi tape run across the middle and I've used Memory Maze filmstrips painted white with old buttons and mini flags made from toothpicks as my embellishments. I didn't forget the train ticket.

color room #157

Picture
Here is the palette for the Color room.
I love the blues and greens and lately I'm into purples/lavenders as well.(Must be getting old eh?)
I started by inking in blue through a Prima dots mask.
Then I used liquid chalkbox inkpad over the 2 Crafty chipboard that frames my main photo.
Behind this I have folded 2 paper doileys, then added 3 Prima roses on my layouts.
The big navy flower is from Maya Road.(Winter roses  Aquamarine)
From one flower to another, I finally threaded a string of pearls to add a feminine touch, this is held in place by blue square brads and the flowers. A tiny piece of blue washi, my title and journaling tag and it is done.

I love the soft look that the chalking gave to the chipboard.

Stuck?! sketch for end of the month.

Here is the last of 4 sketches at Stuck?! for August.

My take on it features a yummy pavlova made for lunch by Kim Ewins when I went to visit the Orange Paperie girls last year.
The colours in the photo suited my Counterfeit Kit papers etc.
The lettering is Grace Taylor.
I've used Kaiser patterned paper, plus October Afternoon embellishment stickers, Memory Maze chipboard arrows, ribbon, washi tape and a red flower and heart brad.
I haven't done the journaling yet but will do very soon.
Stuck?! is also having a blog hop now so join in the fun.

Anything goes challenge cards

The theme this week is "By the sea" at Anything challenge http://www.anythingchallenge.blogspot.fr/
I've made a card using pattern paper that I had which looks like waves. I fussy cut the top edge. I've used Simple Stories sailboat, sun and make a big splash sentiment from their "I heart summer " range.

A layout for Annas

When we were in the Louvre there were just too many artworks to absorb in one visit, so I took photos of all my favourites. As challenges with more than photo come along I have tried to use them but they weren't suitable. Anna's craft cupboard this month had a sketch challenge with more than one photo so I used them.
I used Pink Paislee papers given to me by Kim Kendall from Heirloom scraps.
A little splurt of mist in red added to the arty look. The October Afternoon stickers from my Counterfeit kit were ideal and here it is.

End of my Mojo uploads and Archiscraps reminder.

For those counting along at home I have now uploaded 17 layouts from Mojo. The last 3 are for DT work next month so I can't reveal them yet.

In the meantime another reminder about Archiscraps
Here's your stimulus picture and the criteria is flowers.
IT DOESN"T HAVE TO BE A BUILDING!!!
Any layout or card is fine as long as it has flowers on it.
Upload by the end of this month for a chance to win flowers from Scrappers Garden

Use your stuff

It has been a cold windy day today and the perfect weather for scrapping.

The requirement at Use your stuff this time is circles.
This gave me an opportunity to use the Memory Maze chipboard frame I had been sent.
It required punching out a lot of the background card, that took about 20 mins.
I inked it with blue cyan.
After placing the photo in centre position I've used washi to trim the sides. The frame was placed over the background paper (bubbles) then decorated with more items from my Counterfeit Kit.

There are Bella bling dragonflies, large fabric buttons, a cherry sticker and white asterisks from the alphas. The journaling is also circular.
