Transport at cardz 4 guyz

At Cardz4guyz this week the theme is transport.

I'm stash busting my Counterfeit Kit and had these orange stickers that work well on cards.
I also fussy cut around a picture of an old car and glued it on.
The sentiment is using up thickers that I have.

Sweet Sunday

Here is the sketch for the card at Sweet Sunday.

I chose to turn it 180 degrees so that the sloping part is at the bottom.

Scrap the girls

Here's the sketch challenge at Scrap the Girls this month.

As I have been at a retreat for the past 2 days, I decided to tackle this layout with gusto.

I started by stitching 2 circles that overlapped .
Next I pulled out my flowers and proceeded to use ALL of my purple and pink flowers on this. (I'm so pleased to have done that!).
The largest flowers I've folded over and I think it works to give dimension.
The yellow skeleton leaves provided a nice contrast and harked back to the yellow on the background paper.

My layout doesn't have a title yet because I'm trying to come up with something different to "Mum and Me".
After the work that went into this, I wanted to upload it in time.

Let's get sketchy

Each week at Lets get sketchy there is a different sketch.
My layout is for March week 1.

I've used a Sassafrass Lass kit that I bought recently featuring gorgeous autumn tones.
These crooked teapots cracked me up when I saw them so of course had to take a photo.

Merry Monday #151

Merry Monday asks us

I've made this card

Red carpet Studio- Lucky

Our challenge for this one at Red Carpet studio challenge was to use gold plus the word lucky.
I have used inka gold rubbed over the chipboard scrolled corners plus gold lettering on my layout.

One photo was trimmed to put on the pocket, which will contain my journaling tag.
The strip across the bottom is actually a sticker but it matched the wood so well that the bird was sitting on.

These are more items from this month's Counterfeit Kit.

Red carpet studio -50 shades of grey

For this challenge at Red carpet studio challenge we are asked to use several shades of grey on our layout plus a pop of red and a special technique.

That red chandelier certainly pops off the page!
I've used 6 different grey papers plus silver ribbon.
There is also a grey cameo I added as it suited the theme.
My special technique is the shaker box containing pearls(beads).

Rochelle Spears Tic Tac Toe challenge

Here is Rochelle Spears Tic Tac Toe challenge.

I've chosen to go across the top line, using polka dot paper ,stitching and enamel dots that I made several months ago by melting beads in the oven.
And here it is!

Rochelle Spears colour challenge

Here is Kelly's colour challenge at Rochelle Spears and here is my take on it.
The circles paper from Cherry Arte was ideal.

Red Carpet Studio

At Red carpet studio this week we are asked to use something magical on our layout, based on the movie,

Now when my daughter was little, she was often off in a mind of her own or "Away with the pixies".

In these photos we were at an animal park next to a koala, but look at her in the bottom photo......dreaming again.

Another freaking scrapping challenge and Challenge YOUrself

When I put this blue aeroplane paper in my Counterfeit Kit, I had no idea how I would use it.
I saw that Another Freaking scrapping Challenge wanted us to use blue, so that got me started.

I've used 2 photos from the Royal Easter show last year, of me on a ride that scared me, but I had to try it just once.(Never again!).
This qualifies me for Scrap Yourself where the theme is bucket lists.
The felt clouds and pleated flowers(?) went with the theme as well.
I'm pleased to have used up some of my button collection.
All 3 of these items are from this month's Counterfeit kit too.

Those large YYYY from doodlebug designs just make that title!

Freshly Made sketches

I'm down to the last bunny and finished my Easter card making now.
I've used the above sketch from Freshly Made sketches as my starter for a very pink card.

The papers and strips are from Kaisercraft's Lulu and Roy collection.
I've used sparkly pink washi tape down the sides....and of course the bunny.

Ruby's rainbow and Simon says stamp

At Ruby's Rainbow the theme is buttons and bows.

I found a strip of paper featuring big flowers, so I've used buttons as the centres.
(Gotta love craft glue).
Initially it was going to be a landscape card, but after turning it portrait ,I discovered I could fit an Easter Bunny plus a paper bow from my Counterfeit Kit.
Another Easter card completed and 2 bunnies to go!!

Next at Simon says stamp we are asked to use animals on our project.
Consequently, another bunny!

This time I have layered corrugated card, plus a die cut oval frame.
Bunny sits on top with pink punched flowers around him.
A piece of lace trims the side.
The edges are lightly inked as well.

I've also added this one to Curtain Call's jelly bean challenge and used some of the colours from the photo.

Seize the birthday

At Seize the Birthday we are asked to focus on the sentiment.

I had a tag that said soiree and as I didn't go to many soirees, I couldn't use it.
Next weekend another friend turns 60 and she is having a 60th Karioke birthday party.
(Close enough!)

I've made this card using the tag plus some patterned paper and blobs of mist on the background.
The flower matched so well that I added it at the last minute.

A layout just for me.

I've been wanting to scrap these 3 photos of the day I moved house for a while now.
The 2 stencil cards with home & the house picture inspired me.

I've used more items from my counterfeit kit on here including the 2 stencil cards, the wood veneer saying "recorded" ,the typewriter sticker and journaling card.
I've also used some punched arrows to make the layout flow.
Next month's Archiscraps is to use something at an angle. This would be good for that too.

Scrapbooking 4 Fun Challenge #38 Easter or Spring

My card for Challenge #38.
The tag was made by swirling paint around and the bunny is paper pieced.

We would love you to join in the fun.
Here is the link http://scrapping4funchallenges.blogspot.com.au/2015/03/challenge-38-spring-or-easter.html

It can be a layout,tag,card,anything!

Scrap it with a song

At Scrap it with a song we are asked to use the words from the song," Counting stars" by One Republic.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hT_nvWreIhg&feature=player_embedded

I chose the phrase Down that river, every turn.

My two photos are of the mouth of a river near my Cousin's house.
The background paper reminded me of water currents.
I've used scraps from my desk including hessian, sheet music, ribbon bow, string, felt clouds,3x paper scraps.
The title tag had the word Beautiful on it already, so I've hand written the other words to match it.

This also qualifies for challenge #3 at our CKC where you are asked to use what is on your desk.

Stuck?! sketch March 1

Here is the Stuck Sketch for March 1.

I recently found some very cheap scrapbooking papers at Lincraft.
They were 5 cents each and I knew I would use them somehow.
Paper 1 :the cricket & grass one....perfect!
Paper 2: Plain grass green......suitable for the strip down the side
Paper 3: a group of adhesive circles. I used one of the larger ones.

I recently went to the Sydney Cricket ground for the first time to watch a live match and luckily, was asked into the members stand.
The friend who took me to the match also captured these photos of me.

My photos are slightly bigger than the sketch but still work okay.
My strips across feature wood grain ribbon(the bat) and white spots on green (the ball).
I've also used 2 pleated flowers to add some depth.

Case this sketch #115 and Mojo Monday #389

Here it is and here is my oriental flavoured card

Next I've made another Easter card for Mojo Monday #389

and here it is, featuring one of the bunnies.

Use your stuff -create your own background

At Use your stuff this week we are asked to create your own background.

I started by inking through a swirly stencil with crimson ink.
Next I cut my tag and stamped using white ink and a music stamp on to it.I've also distress inked around its edges.
My bunny and bow came last.

I'm also pleased to announce that I gained this award recently.

Challenge #2 Inspired by Irish.-Counterfeit Kits

Our 2nd challenge at CKC is to be inspired by something Irish

No not the shamrocks........................................................... that wet stuff on it!

I recall my trip to Ireland in 2009 and over the 9 days we saw much rain.
Our coach courier would refer to it as a "soft" morning, irish misht, etc. This graph helps

This inspired me to create a layout starting with MISTING through a Jennifer Grace Happy Scatter.
It gave my layout a rainy looking background.
I added clouds and washi along the top plus some bigger drizzles running down the page.
(reminded me of the windows on the coach)

Next I added my photo of the houses in The Ring of Kerry.
See how green the grass is? It is the rain!!!!

I hope you've enjoyed your (wet) trip to Ireland, now go and create something.

Show us your stuff

In my Counterfeit Kit I had some muslin which I've been wanting to use.
I found this flower on pinterest.
https://www.pinterest.com/pin/133700682659826231/

The thing about muslin is that it doesn't have to be perfect. (suits me!)
I cut a petal flower first as my bottom layer, then decided to just do circles.
My top layer I folded under, but it popped out.
The ribbons behind it were short lengths and match the sweets bag perfectly.

My layout's photo is my daughter and I trying to be funny by hiding our double chins.
My cousin said put your heads up & the two chins won't show. We made her stand on a fence to take the photo. Giggles all round!

The MME sunshine tag, you are silly & say cheese strip add to the mood.

I'm entering this on Show us your stuff.

and a close up of the flower

Journalling will go on the you & me tag.

Frosted Designs

These 2 papers are in my Counterfeit Kit.
They are from Bella's COOK range.
I searched high and low for a layout using that patchwork & couldn't find any, so I've decided to use the B side.(Much better combo.)

On Frosted designs we are asked to use homemade flowers and recycled materials.
I've had some old family postcards so decided to use one.
On the back it looks like this. I think it says Phoebe.

Here's my layout taken on a slight angle. It is straight IRL.
and some close ups

The embroidered lace flower was made from a bra that broke.
The fabric flower with pink button was a dress of my mother's. The 2 laces are scraps
The hydrangeas are from a display at the store where my daughter works. I pulled them apart & glued separate blossoms on.
This lace flower was a lace overlay on a top I bought at the op shop.
The cameo butterfly is "Tattered inspirations", originally a pendant.

Finally after taking all these photos I added a subdued title. The flower & leaf near the title are recycled from a card I was sent.

ColourQ

ColourQ has this palette

And I have been lucky enough to find a patterned paper that (almost ) contains all those colours.
The centre of the big flower was red, so I have inked a daisy with brocade blue and placed a sky blue Prima flower in the centre.
There was another patch of red near the bottom, so I covered that with washi tape and my sentiment.
