Li'l Red wagon and 4 crafty chicks

I bought 5 lilac cards on sale yesterday.
So out came the "purple bag" of scraps and here is the first card for Li'l red wagon.

The butterfly in the middle has been fussy cut out and I'm using up old alphas, hence the white C.

My next uses vellum and buttons and one of 3 random butterflies that I fussy cut.
So it doesn't feel neglected I'm entering it on the Anything goes challenge at 4 Crafty Chicks

Case this sketch

Over at Case this sketch here is the suggested layout.

Good sketch Brian!

I've decided to use my Eiffel tower stamp because everyone likes Paris right?
My sentiment is a flair saying "hello".
This makes the card suitable for many occasions: birthday, get well, travel etc

Scrapping Outback

My first layout in nearly a month! Life has been hectic with Christmas and the silly season that precedes it.
This one is for Scrapping Outback where the criteria is black ,white and gold.

Lisa from CKC sent me this photo of Cologne Cathedral recently.
That is where I met up with her in June this year.
The cathedral is lit up for Christmas festival.

I started with 2 papers from Kaisercraft which I misted in antique gold.
I then added a gold doiley and matted my photo on sheet music. The title seemed appropriate so I left that on.
Another journal card in gold shiny is in the opposite corner.
I added my chipboard there with Inca gold to colour it.
Final touches are 2 tiny tags I had, some bra strap fasteners, plus 3 buttons and a fabric star motif.(an eclectic mix if ever I saw one)
My flair echoes the stave on the sheet music.

Hiding in my craft room.

I'm literally Hiding in my craft room today.
The queues at every place I went this morning were dreadful! Christmas is getting close.

I've made a card for a male 7th birthday or maybe a 7th Anniversary.
I've managed to use some left over alphas to spell the word LUCKY.
The cardstock is copper shimmer so I used that as my inspiration and went with gold/red tones.

4 crafty chicks

At 4 crafty chicks they want "distressing".

I've made a card for a friend's birthday and used my distressing tool around the edges of the layers.

Freshly made sketches

At Freshly made sketches this week they've given us this sketch

I've used the basic idea to make a card for a 2 year old boy.
A line of washi tape goes down the right hand side to match the car.

Christmas future

The expectation of Christmas future – a short blog post on the year to come, new beginnings, resolutions or goals for 2017 (scrappy or otherwise), projects to be completed in the new year, plans of what you will make with what you asked Father Christmas to bring you this coming Christmas etc etc etc! Anything that ties in with future plans.

2017 sees me doing more scrapbooking and I'm on another new Design Team to keep me busy as well as CKC.
I'm not sure what "Father Christmas" is bringing me, so can't comment on that.
I have a few projects I'd like to complete.
                                                         **********************
First thing I will do is an acrylic mini album that I won at a recent retreat.
The front is blank at this point.

Christmas in the Present-highlight a CKC follower

I've chosen to highlight Elaine (Child kid) and searched back through her posts until I found this one.
http://chidkids26.blogspot.com.au/2014/10/a-quick-christmas-card.html

She has used an embossed card with added pops of blue and silver

I happen to have recently bought a pack of pre embossed cards so have used those.
Plus I also bought some Prima "Say it in Crystals"
Here's my finished (minimalist) card.
The Christmas greeting button has been sewn on.

Christmas past

I'm borrowing a layout design from this post

http://chidkids26.blogspot.com.au/2013/12/im-totally-stunned-that-it-has-been.html

Elaine created this gorgeous layout.

We don't get snow where I live and very rarely in Australia.
But I decided to use photos I took of Christmas shops in Germany.
Here's my layout with some close ups.

What you need for this page is
3 Christmas photos
1 sheet white cardstock
Several strips of co-ordinating papers
Pinecone versa ink
1 packet Petaloo red burlap pointsettias
Silver enamel dots
black thin pen to do flourishes.

Mystical cyber crop challenge 1.

The first challenge at Mystical Scrapbooking cyber crop is based around this advertisement for "Modern Muse" perfume.
Image result for Modern Muse perfume ad

Using colours of grey, pale pink and a touch of silver, I have hopefully been inspired by the photo.

Firstly, there is a strip of vertical on the right of the picture.
I used wide silver ribbon in the same area on my layout.

Secondly the figure is on the left so that is where I placed my mainly grey photo of ducks at the Louvre.

Thirdly I matted on pink vellum and hand drew a feather on the same vellum alluding to the boa the girl is wearing. The vellum matches the blurry soft background.

I've added flowers in 2 different colours and a journaling tag saying "How sweet it is".
Also pink ric-rac braid and camera ribbon in black and white.

Finally, my title is a play on the word MUSE.

Cardz4guyz & the male room

I'm totally over Christmas and Christmas cards so have reverted back to normal cards for through the year.
Cardz4guyz has asked for something with T.
I've chosen train.

My train is going uphill following the arrow.
Perhaps some parents think that raising boys is an uphill battle!

**********************************************************************************

My card is an urban traffic scape.
I managed to match another rub on with a strip of car paper that I had To make a card for a car-lover, be it boy or man.

My second card is also entered at Cute Card Thursday

Scrapping Everyday Miracles & others

The new sketch is up at Scrapping Everyday Miracles.

Scrapping Outback and CHallenge YOUrself

The challenge at Scrapping outback is to use these colours plus a piece of chipboard.
I've used a large chipboard scalloped circle around my main photo, which I distress inked with black soot.
The challenge at Challenge Yourself is

I've combined the 2 challenges.
The word "Thankful" is in my journaling .
I was happy to see Lake George in flood last week when I drove to Canberra. The country around there has been so dry over the past few years so farmers will love the extra water lying around.
This thought was the inspiration for my layout.

Shopping our stash & others

Shopping our stash wants "Warm and Fuzzy" this week

I've tidied my craft room and put away quite a pile of bits and pieces.
In that process I found this picture of a squirrel.
Coming from Australia, we still think of them as cute. I always wanted to cuddle a squirrel.

I used quite a few layers including mulberry paper and vellum. It is in autumn colours too.

https://craftingbydesigns.blogspot.com.au/ wants little animals.
https://creativecornerchallenges.blogspot.com.au/ has anything goes

Woodland cards

I've made 2 cards for men using items from my Counterfeit kit.
The fox and deer, plus the tags with gesso design, and the gold pearls are from my kit.
I'm now at the "Stash busting" stage

Simon says stamp plus one

Here are today's 2 cards.
My first is for Simon says stamp where they want a trio or 3 of something.
I'm partial to reindeers at Christmas so I used 3 reindeers along the top of this card.
If you look closely you will see the parent reindeers on the background paper.
This is the last paper from this month's Counterfeit kit.

My second is another Christmas card.
I layered the felt and burlap hearts with puffy stickers.

Pointsettia card and Mojo Monday

If you are reading this please comment!!

I bought this Christmas paper years ago, but could never work out what to do with it.
It has texture on its own.
I've made a large card and added a row of brown stitching.
There is also a tiny stamped image saying Merry Christmas.

Then, using the same background paper, I made this card for Mojo Monday

Here's their sketch

Cardz4Guyz and Pink Gem challenges

At Cardz4Guyz the theme is reindeer.

I've had this cute AtoZ scraplets reindeer for a while, so decided to paint it red and pop it on the card.

My friend's hubby is named Noel so I always send her a noel card. This is for them.

*******************************************************************************
At Pink Gem Challenge I have used another reindeer.
They want ribbon and bling.
I used 2 rows of satin ribbon featuring Santa and Reindeer.
I made a co-ordinating tag and highlighted the card with green pearls.

Daring cardmakers and shopping our stash.

At Daring Cardmakers this week they want a gift bag or box.
I made a bag for my great niece who is 10.
Can you guess her 2 favourite colours?
The heart has a layer of felt and hessian. I punched the top of the bag with a lacy border punch.
It will contain some small flat items like hair clips, etc.

************
At Shopping our stash this week they want us to use left over pieces from our desk.
I started with a grid which was the outline of a set of letters.
Next I have cut a tag from an old Christmas card and put a short length of twine through it (also on my desk).
I then glued a wood veneer star and 3 smaller stars from a pack of puffy stickers.
Lastly, the sentiment "Totally Rad" was from one of those strips at the bottom of pattern papers.
Here is my very economical card.

Tuesday taggers

The challenge this week at Tuesday taggers is "trees are green or any other colour.

As it happened, I had a small template which was tree shaped.
I inked through it repeatedly using black distress ink.
This produced an interesting background "forest".
Next, I've used white liquid pearls to make the garlands (tinsel) on the trees.
Finally, I had a puffy snowman sticker and one saying "Merry Christmas".

Merry Monday....from the dog & Stick it down card

I had a small scrap of patterned paper featuring a doghouse which gave me the idea of making a Christmas card from the dog.

I found this challenge to use grey white and red so set to and created this card.

(There's a bit too much glue behind the buttons but that will disappear as it dries fully.)

*************************************************************************************************************

At Stick it down where I will be on their DT next year this is the sketch for the card challenge.

I've used patterned paper instead of paint
